An incorrect date was published regarding the upcoming amateur ham radio class. The class will be held at the Metropolis Fire Department, at 7th and Pearl Streets, on Wednesday, July 17, in the training room from 4-8 p.m., with testing on Thursday. The class is free, but the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) test has a $15 fee. Anyone wanting to sign up for the class should email Charlie Richey, the Massac County Amateur Radio Emergency Services (ARES) coordinator at k9due@k9due.net with their name and phone number or call 618-309-6911 and leave a message.
