During the month of October, nine county residents acquired building permits from Massac County Supervisor of Assessments office. Receiving permits were:

Oct. 2 -- Diane Leonard, 4833 Gurley Rd., for the purpose of a 672-square-foot pole barn with concrete.

Oct. 4 -- Stephanie Weber, 3038 North Ave., for the purpose of a pole barn; and Stephen Russell, 3634 Carson Lane, for the purpose of a house addition.

Oct. 7 -- Terry Okerson, 30 Joshua Dr., for the purpose of a garage.

Oct. 11 -- Kenneth Robins, 3504 Massac Creek Rd., for the purpose of a 1200 square foot new house and garage; and Terry Johnson, 1066 Old Karnak Rd., for the purpose of a garage.

Oct. 22 -- Ben Schmidt, 5702 Jonesboro Rd., for the purpose of a 40x36 farm building and a 48x56 3-open side hay storage building; and Rick and Deborah Cook, of Thompson Lane, for the purpose of a 36x64 square foot barn.

Oct. 23 -- Norma Harris, 7734 Waldo Church Rd., for the purpose of a carport.
