Zeta Zeta sorority held its annual hunt on Saturday, April 8, at Washington Park where children ages 0 to 10 were split into three age groups to scoop up as many eggs filled with candy — along with some redeemable for special prizes. After the hunt, kids, and several parents, posed for pictures with the Easter Bunny. The sorority has hosted the hunt for more than 35 years.

Following the hunt, many hunters also went across the street to the Metropolis Public Library’s spring open house for crafts, games, snacks, photos with baby chicks and bunnies and activities, along with the opportunity to pre-register for the Summer Reading Program. For the adults, there were book signings featuring authors Dan Salerno with “Metropolis: Tales From a Small Town,” Vanessa E. Curry with “A Gold Medal Man: Biography of Kenneth 'Tug' Wilson” and Alysson Dotson with “Winter: A Tale of Cursed and Stolen Things.”
