Welcome back to Fort Massac State Park for the 2021 Fort Massac Encampment.

The Illinois Department of Natural Resources is pleased to host this wonderful event, which has been an autumn tradition at Fort Massac State Park for nearly 50 years.

The Fort Massac Encampment showcases the history, culture and heritage of the region, providing families and visitors from throughout the Midwest a glimpse at what life was like here along the Ohio River during Colonial and early American times.

The Encampment also allows us to provide those who attend a look at all of the year-round recreation opportunities available at Fort Massac State Park, which became Illinois’ first state park in 1908.

Thank you to our outstanding Illinois Department of Natural Resources staff, as well as Encampment organizers, volunteers, local officials, sponsors, participants and vendors who make this festival so special.

We hope you enjoy the color, pageantry, and traditions that we are pleased to again be able to celebrate this year at the Fort Massac Encampment.
