Even though it may be small, the Grand Chain Library and its volunteers are keeping busy with activities, especially during the Christmas season.

The community is invited to an old-fashioned Christmas celebration on Sunday, Dec. 1 on Main Street in Grand Chain from 3-5 p.m.

Santa and Mrs. Claus will arrive in their horse drawn carriage at 3:30 p.m. Santa's Workshop will be featured this year with all of his elves welcoming area children. Carriage rides will be available, for a small donation, while Santa listens to Christmas wishes.

The Grand Chain Library will be open, offering cookies and hot chocolate.

The Christmas tree lighting will be held at 5 p.m. at the pavilion, with a bonfire and warm hot chocolate available to warming the heart, followed by a performance from area musicians singing Silent Night.
