The Illinois Department of Public Health reports that as of Sept. 9, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 68 Illinois counties are at elevated level for COVID-19.

Southern 7 Health Department reports that six of the counties in its region are listed at medium to high transmission levels — Massac, Johnson and Hardin are at the high level, while Pope, Pulaski and Union are at medium and Alexander is in the low transmission level.
