It looks like the cold winter weather is about to bear down on us and I for one really enjoyed the nice temperatures we experienced over Christmas. I hope you all did too.
I have been in a fight with my phone in my car. You might remember, I hit a deer few months ago, and my car was totaled, so I got a new one. It's a very nice Nissan Altima that I really like.
However, the phone is a different matter. My last car, all I had to say was "call someone," and it did, not this one. There are nine different options and you can't override them because several people have tried. So I have to answer it nine different times to just get a call through. The first few times nothing happened. The last time after going through all those questions, she told me I talked too fast and too loud and hung up on me. I was livid, and then I did get loud and talked a lot faster. Needless to say, I don't use the phone in my car. I will wait until I get wherever I am going to call if I need too.
I enjoyed Christmas dinner with Tom and Pam and all their families on Christmas Eve and then headed to Paducah for supper with Les and Kathy at Outback. On Christmas, I had my children over for dinner, so it was a very busy few days. I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas with family and friends.
I still have this cat, which showed up at my house if anyone is missing one. He really misses his family.
I have been to the new Dollar General Store in Karnak, and I love it. It is laid out different, so it will take some getting used to, but it is so nice and I really love the parking lot -- go figure. It's huge and so nice and smooth.
I'm still very nervous about driving at night with all the deer. I hope I get over that soon. It's just safer to stay home.
I didn't even get out much to enjoy the light decorations. I do have to say Chuck and Audrey Gilbert in Joppa had an awesome display of lights. I could look at them for hours. Loren and Brenda Crockett again take first place on my road, and the display at the Lang home in Hillerman is a child's delight. I know there were more, but I didn't get out to check see them and all because of one crazed deer. Maybe next year.
I was so sorry to hear of the passing of Tommy Wilke. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers.
Marilyn Wright has really been down with some kind of flu. I hope she can get back on the road to recovery soon.
That's all I have for this week folks. I need some news for next week. It's gonna be a brand new year.
