Well things have really gone down hill this week. I was so looking forward to seeing grandson, Jacob, his wife Rachel and that little man, Jace, for a week. However Jacob was called back to the Air Force Base before I got to see them. It was such a sad day for me and for them. I sure wish we had a handle on that virus before it destroys all of us. It seems like we have gone from one extreme to another just to try to stop it, and from where I sit folks, it doesn’t seem to be working.

My family does not want me to be exposed to it because of my age — well that’s all I am going to say about that. I do know, no one alive now has ever been up against such a serious threat to the health of mankind. It’s kind of like that first moonwalk back in 1969 folks. We’ve just got to play it by ear I guess, but hope it ends fast. I don’t have a lot of patience, as many of you know.

I want to wish my brother and his wife a very happy anniversary. Best wishes to Tom and Pam for many more. I also want to wish a big happy birthday to son, Ronnie, who lives just over there in Kentucky. I don’t think we will be sharing any cake any time soon. I did get to see youngest brother, Bob, and his wife, Debbie, as they came down to visit for the weekend. They also got their new drivers licenses and just in time I see as the drivers licenses are closed now till further notice. All schools are closed, as of March 17 and all restaurants, bars and casinos are all closed. Good grief.

On a happier note, congratulations to Cheyenne Lang who competed in the Beta Club Convention in Springfield and placed runner up in the site drawing and first place champion in painting. I have seen her work, and it is awesome. She will head to the nationals held in Fort Worth, Texas in June. I know more of our students won awards; I just have to find them. Well done, Joppa High School Beta Club.

I guess that’s all the news for now folks, except, please let’s all try to do what we are asked to try and stop the spread of this virus and prayers for all who get it. We can get through this. We are a strong nation, and by gosh, we will get through these times it just make take longer than some of us would like. Okay that’s all for now. From my house to yours, stay healthy.
