Bryan Walquist (second from left) was the recipient of the 2022 Conservation Scholarship from the Massac County Soil & Water Conservation District. Walquist, a 2022 Joppa High School graduate, is attending Murray State University, obtaining a degree in ag education at Murray State. Max Bremer (not pictured), a 2022 Massac County High School graduate, also received a scholarship for study in civil engineering, a field closely related to soil conservation work within Natural Resources Conservation Service. The Massac County Soil & Water Conservation District is offering a scholarship to local students who live in Massac County and attend Joppa High School or Massac County High School or who are home-schooled.
The deadline for 2023 applications is Saturday, April 1.
