It's hard to believe August has arrived, and summer is almost over. It is time for us all to get in the school mode. Time seems to pass so fast these days.
We may have some warm days as August begins but thankful we don't have the high humidity to go with it yet.
Our heart goes out to all those affected by the massacres over the weekend in Texas and Ohio. It's hard to believe that someone can take the lives of people they don't even know without any remorse. Our country is on borrowed time. I hope everyone keeps our country in your prayers.
The Nine Day Trail Ride has drawn to a close, and it seems from everyone's pictures on Facebook it was another successful year.
There were fun times and plenty of memories made for everyone. Everyone is back home and unpacked, with thoughts of what to do different, or the same next year.
If I'm not mistaken, the kids only have this last week of summer break, before returning to school. I'm hoping everyone has gotten their back to school shopping done and can just enjoy this week doing fun things.
Josh and Jessica Bowman, along with their children, Emma and Wyatt, returned home over the weekend from camping in Pensacola near the beach with the family of Kent and Hailey Miles and family. Everyone had a fun time of enjoying the beach, visiting nearby activities and just enjoying family and friends.
Jared and Taylor Hines enjoyed the weekend in St. Louis at Six Flags amusement and waterpark.
Happy birthday wishes are sent this week to Harper Hunt, Juscenda Bouska, Claire Hollis, Ryan Jones, Larry Hettinger, Jake Medley, Sherri Pearcy and Bree Rushing.
Don't forget this Saturday evening, starting at 7 p.m., will be the annual Baptist Children's Home Singing at Dixon Springs Baptist Church and will feature The Peyton Sisters. Everyone is welcome to attend.
Here is wishing everyone a great week.
