It is hot and muggy as our summer continues. We did get a few showers last week which where a welcome relief. The gardens and fields needed a drink. I'm looking forward to the drop in humidity later this week. I have so much tree trimming, and more, to get done.
Karen Logeman is home recovering from foot surgery from last week. She is taking it easy, and hopefully Darrell is playing the role of a nurse well. Our thoughts and prayers are with her for a speedy recovery.
Billy and Julie Travis spent a few days in Gulf Shores, Alabama celebrating their anniversary. Nothing is better than getting away from the everyday routine.
Our expression of sympathy is with Jim Jones and family as his mom, Velma Talbert, passed away recently. Her funeral was Sunday.
Happy birthday wishes are sent to Sally Smith, Ben Cockrel, Judy Norman and Jay McClasky.
It's going to be a busy week for the youth as church camp at Camp Mac began Sunday. I hope everyone going has a great time.
It's also that time of the summer for the Massac County Youth Fair to begin this weekend. Remember kids to get all your projects ready. I hope for all those showing animals the temperatures will be cooler next week.
News is a little on the short side this week. I hope everyone has a nice week.
