It’s coming! Cool fall temperatures this week.
Some won’t know what to do, some will be digging in their closets for the sweatpants and hoodies as the morning temps near 40.
Our first taste of fall, but signs are all around us as I noticed some of the trees and shrubs are starting to turn colors, the farmers are busy in the fields, and pumpkins and fall decor are popping up all around us. First official day of fall is this week, Sept. 22, and Mother Nature is delivering.
We did get a little rain over the weekend to help settle the dust.
Continue to remember Russell McBride and his family in your prayers. He was transferred to the CCU unit for several days, but is back on the regular floor now. He isn’t really feeling much better, and no definite diagnosis has been reached it. Test results are pending. We love you, Russell, and praying you are feeling better soon.
Congratulations to first-time grandparents, Dwight and Lerenda Travis. Their daughter, Emily and Jace Hargrove, welcomed their firstborn, Elias Somontina, into the world over the weekend. Elias was 6 pounds, 12 ounces and 20 inches long. He is a cutie with lots of black hair. Congratulations to the new parents and to great-grandmother Betty Travis and great-grandfather Tom McCarver.
Happy birthday wishes are sent to several this past week. Judy Troutt, Dee Dee Wrye, Jolene Flynn, Starla Price, Debra Travis, Eva Casey, Nicki Burton, Tori and Anastasia Aul, Chealsea and Bryce Hettinger, Valerie Miler and Jeremy Walton.
Ryan and Jennifer Travis had a great turnout of youth Sunday night for the LOFT meeting. It’s great to see more youth coming each time. It’s for fifth-graders and up and meet twice a month on Sunday evening. It’s for any youth in the area.
Enjoy your week as we get our first real taste of fall.
