Beautiful weather. Everyone is loving it. We did get a little rain over the weekend, other more than some, but we will take it. It was a great Labor Day weekend. The official last holiday long weekend of the summer.
They are talking about 50-degree mornings this week. Fall will be here soon, we are all hoping. Harvest time is coming soon for our farmers as I’ve seen several corn fields drying up.
Our thoughts and prayers remain with Russell McBride as he continues to recover at home. He is still very weak, and undergoing physical therapy at home. Prayers that his strength, appetite, and comfort will be restored.
Mike Rushing also continues to recover at home from his surgeries. Our thoughts and prayers are with him for a complete recovery.
The Rushing family is saddened to learn of the passing of Tod Rushing, Ocala, Florida, after his second battle with COVID. His dad, Allen Rushing and Reba along with JJ and Lora Jacobs traveled to Ocala last week to attend his funeral, Tod’s sister, Georgie and Brian Casey also flew for the funeral. Our thoughts and prayers are sent to Tod’s wife, Kelly, and all his family.
It was also heartbreaking to learn of the passing of grade school friend, Jeff Leek Sr. from Hopkinsville, Kentucky, from COVID last week. His celebration of Life will be this Saturday, Sept. 11 at the New Barren Springs Baptist Church in Hopkinsville at 11 a.m. Our thoughts and prayers are sent to all his family.
If you have kept up with the COVID cases in Massac County, the cases are rising daily. Prayers are with those recovering, Hopefully we won’t reach levels again that will require closings.
Happy Birthday wishes are sent this week to Betty and Chuck Travis, and Billy Travis.
Jeremy and Carlene Staton are home after spending a few days in Panama City Beach. A little beach therapy can get you restored.
