Three regional organizations are offering scholarship opportunities to the Class of 2023.
Application deadlines for these scholarships are this month.
Rural Health, Inc., is funding and administering eight $1,000 health care scholarship opportunities to a high school senior at each of the following schools: Anna-Jonesboro, Cobden, Dongola, Goreville, Joppa, Massac County, Shawnee and Vienna. Home-schooled students in Union, Johnson and Massac counties are welcome to apply as well.
Applicants will be recognized for their desire to pursue a career in the health care field. Application packets are available from the above school guidance counselors or from Rural Health for an application packet.
The deadline is Wednesday, March 8.

Psi Eta Sorority is offering a one-time $500 scholarship to a senior female student pursuing a college/college program certification. Applications for the Psi Eta Service Scholarship-Julie Ann Taylor Memorial Scholarship are being taken until Friday, March 31.
The scholarship is open to female students at Massac County High School, Joppa High School or an equivalent home-school program located in Massac County.
The applicant will need to provide a list of volunteer activities and have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA. An essay must also be submitted.
Applications are available at both area high school’s counselors’ offices or by emailing PsiEtaMetropolis@gmail.com.
The Home and Community Education Association of Massac County is accepting scholarship applications from high school seniors living in Massac County and attending Joppa High School, Massac County High School or who are home-schooled.
According to HCE, preference will be given to applicants who plan to pursue a career in the areas of home, family, environment and agriculture.
The deadline for applications is Saturday, April 1.
Application guidelines are available from the counselors and the agriculture teachers at MCHS and JHS. Applications are also available at the Massac County Extension Office, 1438 W. 10th St., Metropolis.
The HCE scholarship program is co-sponsored with the Massac County Extension Facilities, Inc. For more information, contact scholarship chairman Connie Obermark at 524-5609.
