According to a report from the Marion Police Department, Niki Adams, 36, of Brookport, was arrested on retail theft at Walmart Supercenter in Marion on April 16.

This arrest was made on the basis of probable cause and all arrestees are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

April 18

A Metropolis officer clocked a black Honda Civic on U.S. 45 at the Massac Creek Bridge at 63 mph in a posted 45 mph zone. A traffic stop was conducted. Police said a computer check on the driver, Andrea N. Todd, 40, of Clarksville, Tennessee, revealed her driver’s license was suspended. Todd was charged with speeding and driving while license suspended. She was released on bond.

Metropolis officers were called to Thrive on East Fifth Street for a disturbance. Police said that, upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim who advised she had been in an argument with her boyfriend, Scott T. Wolfe, 51, of Benton, Kentucky. Police said the victim stated Wolfe had been drinking and being aggressive. Police also said Wolfe pulled the victim out of the vehicle, scratching her arm, and then drove off with the victim’s 4-year-old child inside. Emergency messages were sent out to Illinois and Kentucky authorities to be on the lookout. Metropolis, Massac County Sheriff’s deputies and Illinois State Police started setting up stake out positions. Police said that approximately 45 minutes later, a call came in on a reckless driver turning into Acee’s Truck Stop. The Metropolis chief was nearby and saw the vehicle was the one law enforcement was looking for, and Wolfe took off at a high rate of speed, according to police. The chief blocked the access road, and Wolfe stopped. Police said that, as the chief was exiting the squad car, Wolfe drove around his squad car and took off. Wolfe entered a parking lot of a hotel and was blocked in, according to police. Wolfe was taken into custody, and the child was not hurt. Police said that, after further investigation, Wolfe was charged with child abduction, child endangerment, DUI, reckless driving, theft of auto and domestic battery. He was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

April 21

Metropolis officers were called to the Dollar Tree on East Fifth Street for a disturbance. Michael R. Jines, 41, of Murphysboro, was arrested on domestic battery and lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

Sonja L. Sledd, 39, of Metropolis, was arrested at the Humma Apartments. Police said Sledd had been previously trespassed from all Massac County Housing areas. Sledd was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
