Sept. 13

A Metropolis sergeant stopped a blue Chevrolet on 12th and North Ave. The Chevrolet had an expired Registration. The driver, Cale A. Lewis, 39, Metropolis had a suspended driver’s license. Lewis was arrested and lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

Sept. 14

Kenneth L. Mitchell was arrested in the 1000 block of E. 6th St. Mitchell was wanted on a warrant, issued by Massac County for violation of an order of protection. Mitchell was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

Sept. 15

Metropolis detectives investigated a burglary which occurred at the Massac County Housing Authority offices. The investigation led to the eventual arrest of Jason J. Gallo, 48, Metropolis. Gallo was charged with burglary and theft. Gallo was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

Sept. 20

Kimberly D. Towns, 43, Ozark, was arrested for obstructing justice in the 1200 block of North Ave. Metropolis police were called to a residence on W. 20th St. regarding a disturbance. Towns left prior to the arrival of the police. Officers checked the area and located Towns, who initially gave a false name to the officers. After her identity was revealed, Towns told police she gave the false name to avoid being arrested on a Saline County warrant. Townes was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

The preceding information pertains to arrests made by the Metropolis Police Department. These arrests are made on the basis of probable cause and all arrestees are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
