A Metropolis officer stopped a black Chevrolet Impala for speeding on U.S. 45 and Devers Road. A computer check on the driver, Antoine T. Westley, 25, of Paducah, revealed he had a suspended driver’s license. Westley was released on bond after being processed.

Sept. 27

Metropolis officers were called to the Huck’s for an extremely intoxicated female. Officers were advised that she was refused sale of beer and had returned to her vehicle. Upon arrival, officers located the gray Toyota and the driver. Sherry D. Kammler, 60, of Metropolis, was behind the wheel with the engine running. She had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on her breath, slurred speech and other signs of impairment. Kammler failed the field sobriety tests. Kammler was arrested for DUI. Kammler was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

Sept. 30

Spencer C. Clark, 36, of Metropolis, was arrested in the 400 block of West 10th Street. Clark was wanted on a warrant issued by Spencer County, Indiana, for possession of cannabis. Clark was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

Metropolis Police received a call of a reckless driver coming into town on southbound U.S. 45 being followed by the caller. A Metropolis officer observed the vehicle and turned around. He observed that the red GMC pick-up had accelerated. He then observed him turn onto Johnson Street without using a turn signal. A traffic stop was conducted. A computer check on the driver, Robert S. Crane, 52, of Murphysboro, revealed that his driver’s license was revoked. Crane was arrested and lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.

The preceding information pertains to arrests made by the Metropolis Police Department. These arrests are made on the basis of probable cause and all arrestees are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
