Jan. 9Metropolis officers were called to a residence in the 700 block of East Seventh Street for a theft report. According to police, Michael P. Shappard, 41, of Metropolis, was charged with one count of felony theft, one count of misdemeanor theft and possession of methamphetamine. Shappard was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
Raiden G. Synek, 18, of Metropolis, was arrested outside of Huck’s. Police said Synek was wanted on a warrant issued by Massac County on criminal damage to property. Synek was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
Jan. 13Metropolis Police were called to the Super Suds Laundry on East Fifth Street for a trespassing complaint. Police said Darrel A. McCoy, 60, of Metropolis, was arrested and charged with criminal trespass to property and lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
Chelsea D. Word, 31, of Metropolis, was charged with unlawful visitation interference, according to police. She was given a notice to appear and released.
Jan. 15A Metropolis corporal stopped a tan Chevrolet van for expired registration of November 2022. According to police, a computer check showed that the driver, Felicia M. Gonzalez, 28, of Metropolis, had a warrant issued by Massac County on failure to appear-DUI. Police said Gonzalez was charged with no valid registration, operation of an uninsured motor vehicle and the warrant. She was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
The preceding information pertains to an arrest made by the Metropolis Police Department. This arrest was made on the basis of probable cause and all arrestees are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
