Man is arrested

for criminal trespass

Metropolis Police officers were called to a residence in the 500 block of Yasoda Street. The caller stated he observed Darrell A. McCoy, 56, of Metropolis on his property. McCoy had been previously trespassed from the property by both the owner and the Metropolis Police Department. McCoy was located and arrested for criminal trespass to property. He was lodged at Massac County Detention Center.

November 12

Driver arrested for revoked license, released

A Metropolis Police Sergeant stopped a silver dodge pick-up on the ramp from U.S. 45 to Interstate 24. The driver, Joshua R. Goines, 38, of Grand Chain, had a revoked driver's license. He was arrested and taken to the Metropolis Police Department for processing and was released on bond.

November 14

Driver arrested for revoked license, no insurance

A Metropolis Police officer stopped a blue Subaru SUV for a defective taillight on U.S. 45 and Faughn Lane. A computer check on the driver, James L. Knott, 66, of Metropolis revealed he had a revoked driver's license.

Knott could not provide proof of insurance. He was arrested and charged with driving while license revoked and operation of an uninsured motor vehicle and lodged at Massac County Detention Center.

The preceding information pertains to arrests made by the Massac County Sheriff's Department and the Metropolis Police Department. These arrests are made on the basis of probable cause and all arrestees are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
