Metropolis Police officers received a call that Kenneth L. Mitchell, 40, Metropolis, was at a home in the 800 block of Market St. Mitchell is prohibited from being within 500 feet of the residence by an order of protection issued by Massac County. Upon arrival, Officers found Mitchell on the back porch. Mitchell was arrested for violation of an order of protection and lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
Officers received a call of a man passed out or sleeping by the dumpsters at the Acee’s Truck Stop. Upon arrival, officers found the man who said he was sleeping. When advised of the call he kept replying, “I’m sleeping, I’m OK.” The man was asked numerous times to provide information or identification and he refused and became agitated. The subject continued to refuse to identify himself and was arrested for obstructing a police officer. He was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center. Officers later learned that he was Michael S. Griffin Jr., 33, Gloster, Missouri.
An officer stopped a gray Mazda. The officer observed the vehicle on 5th Street with defective equipment. A computer check on the driver, Dylan I Sanchez,20, Mayfield, Kentucky, showed he had a suspended drivers license. Sanchez was charged with driving while license suspended and was released on bond.
