Sept. 14

Metropolis Dispatch advised officers that a vehicle that had been reported stolen was observed in the area. Police said the Metropolis detective sergeant observed the vehicle, a 1996 gray Oldsmobile Regency, on Scott Street. A traffic stop was conducted on Fifth and Scott streets. The vehicle was confirmed as stolen. Police said a computer check on the driver, Matthew R. McIntosh, 41, of Smithland, Kentucky, revealed he was wanted on a no bond warrant issued by the U.S. Marshals on amphetamines. McIntosh was arrested and charged with possession of a stolen vehicle and the warrant, according to police. He was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
