A Metropolis officer on patrol was flagged down by a citizen, who advised that he had Darrell A. McCoy, 59, of Metropolis, trespassed from his property in the 1000 block of Simmons Street, according to police. Police said he further stated that McCoy was currently on the property, and he wanted McCoy arrested. Officers located McCoy. Police said he was arrested and charged with criminal trespass to property and lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
July 22
Metropolis officers were called to a domestic disturbance at a residence in the 1100 block of Ophia Street. Police said that, upon arrival, officers learned the victim, who is disabled, was allegedly struck numerous times in the face by Michael B. Robison, 51, of Metropolis. Police said the victim was transported by ambulance to Massac Memorial Hospital and Robison was arrested and charged with aggravated domestic battery. Robison was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
July 24
James R. Beasley, 57, of Metropolis, was arrested in the 1800 block of McCrary Street. Police said Beasley was wanted on a warrant issued by Massac County on two counts of ID theft. Beasley was lodged in the Massac County Detention Center.
The preceding information pertains to an arrest made by the Metropolis Police Department. This arrest was made on the basis of probable cause and all arrestees are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
