Cordavino’s was damaged Thursday night in an incident that remains under investigation by the Metropolis Police Department. Anyone with information is asked to call 524-2310.

The Metropolis Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in an incident that left a local restaurant damaged.

Officers responded to multiple calls of shots fired in the 300 block of Ferry Street and a dark-colored SUV leaving the scene at a high rate of speed around 10 p.m. Thursday, April 8.

Upon arrival, officers found Cordavino’s Italian Kitchen was damaged — a window and brickwork smashed in. In addition, a street light at the corner of the alley and Ferry Street was found next to the building, as well as broken glass and vehicle debris. Shell casings were also recovered by officers.

A caller to the department reported a male leaving the scene on foot with what was believed to be a cellphone in his hand.

The Illinois State Police Crime Scene Investigation Unit is assisting with the investigation.

Anyone with information is asked to call 524-2310.
