Ready to blossom forth

February’s frigid temperatures kept peach and nectarine trees from blooming too early this year. The payoff is expected this weekend as those flowers are expected to be at their prime. The public is invited to bring a camera and view the trees at the Dale Bremer Peach Orchard in bloom. While peach flowers don’t stay on the limbs for many days, the bloom time is expected to be March 25 through April 3. Visitors are welcome all weekend. Orchard staff will be available from 1-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday to help locate the most accessible areas for viewing. The orchard is located at 5446 Orchard Road, off Illinois 145 in Metropolis.
