Hello and good evening everyone on a wonderful Day of Pentecost here in Reevesville.
We've certainly been blessed with an abundance of rain lately, which I know has been hard on the farmers, but when those clouds move out of the way, it sure heats up quick. I heard one ol' boy say this week, "It wouldn't be so bad, if it weren't for all the hum-didity."
I would like to extend a very big thank you to the good folks at Lake Glendale for allowing us the privilege and opportunity to baptize four souls in Jesus' name Sunday morning.
The rain held off all day, and the very minute we were done eating, and fellowship came to a close, I got in the truck and the heavens opened up.
It was an amazing blessing because the weather had been calling for rain the whole time. Thank you all so much.
Everyone please keep Bro. Timmy Deel and his mother, Dixie Deel, in your prayers. Timmy's dog, Daisy, a yellow labrador and golden retriever mix, was struck by a train Saturday morning. It's very sad as we were all very fond of her.
It is hard to lose a pet, especially when they're just like one of the family and she was. She used to come to my house often and loved to go fishing.
She will be missed very much. May God comfort you all in your time of loss.
I would also like to ask that everyone keep my neighbor, Rick Crews, in prayer. Rick has had a couple health issues lately and goes back to the doctor in the morning for test results. We pray that the Lord will send you a good report, Rick.
The Helm family celebrated their family reunion today at the Metropolis Community Center. I am very fond of all of them as they've always, all of them, been good to me. God bless you all.
What signs did Jesus say were to follow those that believed in Him? For the answer to this week's Bible quiz, turn to Mark 16:17-18.
Well friends, Saturday is the big day.
I ask that you all pray for my soon-to-be wife, Haley Robison, accordingly.
It's definitely an honor and a blessing, and we are both very excited. I'm thankful to be able to share in the excitement with all of you.
Since my Grandpa Lee Roy is looking down from Heaven and he couldn't be there in person, we thought the next best thing would be to have the wedding ceremony right here in his back yard, between the two big pecan trees we always gleaned from together. I miss him every day, but he is, and will always be, a big part of my life. Thank you, Pop, for always being there for me.
Little Johnny's preschool class went on a field trip to the fire station. The firefighter giving the presentation held up a smoke detector and asked the class, "Does anyone know what this is?"
Little Johnny's hand shot up and the firefighter called on him. Little Johnny replied, "That's how Mommy knows supper is ready."
Until next week ... see you in church.
