Rotary presents Spaghetti Supper funds

Metropolis Rotary Club vice president Tim Milano (right) presents a $9,000 check to the club’s SICF representatives Clyde Wills and Faye Joyner-Keene during the club’s April 21 meeting. SICF (Southern Illinois Community Foundation) oversees the funds raised for the annual Massac Academic Ceremony. The funds were the club’s portion raised during the annual Metropolis Kiwanis and Rotary Scholarship Spaghetti Supper, which was held April 26 to raise money for the annual Academic Awards Ceremony scholarship. Together, Rotary and Kiwanis will provide $18,800 in scholarships to graduating seniors from Massac County and Joppa high schools during the annual Massac Academic Ceremony, which will be held tonight, Thursday, April 28, at 6:30 p.m. at the Metropolis Community Center.
