On Feb. 20, as part of an ongoing crystal methamphetamine investigation, agents from the Southern Illinois Drug Task Force (SIDTF) in Ullin, Massac County Sheriff’s Department, Metropolis Police Department, Illinois State Police SWAT and Illinois State Police (ISP) District 22, executed a search warrant in Metropolis.

During the search, agents seized approximately 60 grams of crystal methamphetamine. One individual, Whitney N. Marr, 30, of Metropolis, was arrested and transported to Massac County Detention Center. She was charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver.

According to ISP, this is an ongoing investigation and no additional information is available for release at this time.

The public is reminded that, under law, a defendant is presumed innocent of a charge until proven guilty, beyond a reasonable doubt, to the satisfaction of a jury.

The Ullin Office of the ISP/SIDTF is comprised of membership from the Massac County Sheriff’s Department, The Massac County States Attorney’s office, Metropolis Police Department, Hardin County Sheriff’s Department, Hardin County States Attorneys’ office, and the Illinois State Police Zone 7. Massac County State’s Attorney Josh Stratemeyer is prosecuting the case.
