Superman Celebration organizers say there are multiple new activities planned for the Celebration that will guarantee fun for all ages.

New this year will be a Heroes and Villains Chess Challenge where participants can watch live chess pieces make their move to win the game of chess. "We have a 20' x 20' chess board that live characters will become the chess pieces. The Captain of the Heroes and the Captain of the Villains will call out the moves to their Chess Characters, and the battle will begin," said organizer Karla Ogle. The games will take place on Friday at 3:30 p.m. at the Metro Tent.

Also new to the Celebration will be a Family Quickdraw where families or teams may compete against other teams. Instructions will be given to each member of the team on what part of a picture to draw and will complete the drawing as a team. This will begin at 7 p.m. on Thursday at the Metro Tent.

Nicholas Mastramico will present SUPER LEGO Engineering on Friday at 2:30 p.m. in the Kryptopolis Viewing Room located at the Courthouse Annex. He will share his knowledge and expertise on selecting, designing and creating a custom LEGO build. Mastramico recently completed a scale replica of the Super Museum building, which took three months to build. The replica will be on display at the Super Museum throughout the Celebration.

New events for kids at the Smallville Tent include: Superhero Bingo and Teen Titan Bingo, Quick Draw for Kids, Let's draw something fun!, and Trembling Towers a game trying to stack large blocks on top of each other.
