Steve and Norma Korte celebrate golden anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Steve Korte will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, July 24. To commemorate their golden anniversary, all family and friends are invited to attend an informal open house from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 25, at St. John’s Church on Waldo Church Road in Metropolis. The couple requests no gifts.

Steve and Norma (Walter) Korte were married on July 24, 1971, at Zion United Church of Christ by Rev. Russell Miller. Attendants were Joyce Walter, Lora Ann Bishop, Larry Korte and David McWaters.

Steve is the son of the late Lester and Marie (Hillebrand) Korte, and Norma is the daughter of the late Clellan and Helen (Conant) Walter. Steve and Norma’s parents celebrated their 50th wedding anniversaries in 1998 (Lester and Marie Korte) and 1984 (Clellan and Helen Walter), respectively.

The couple has three children, Darryl and wife Sheila, Daniel and wife Tiffany, and Debra Korte, and four grandchildren, Jakob, Austin, Logan and Larkin Korte. They reside on their farm in Massac County.
