Students show off their photo abilities

ANN DOUGLAS | Metropolis Planet

Students in Lisa Penrod's sixth grade class at Brookport Elementary pose near their photo entries displayed in the Brookport Library for the fourth annual Big Blue Photography Contest. Both the fifth and sixth graders made a journey to the library for vote for the People's Choice Award. Many had first or second place entries all taken with cell phones. After printing the photos, each student matted their photos for the show. The display will be up until Friday, May 31. A reception is set for 6 p.m. Thursday, May 16 to announce the People's Choice winners. The contest is sponsored by the Brookport Betterment Committee to showcase area talent.
