Superdogs of all kinds and sizes showed off their special powers during the annual Superdog Contest on June 11 during the 44th annual Superman Celebration. This year’s contest winners were: Tiny, a 4-month-old Chihuahua, with owner Superman, who received the Wee Woofer Tiny Titan Award; Sunni, a 10-year-old Dachshund, with owners William and Cindy Mashburn, who received the Superdog Outstanding Costume Award; Roman, a 3-year-old Standard Poodle, with owner Kevin MacDonald, who received the Best Super Trick Award; Lily, an 11-year-old Dachshund/Chihuahua mix, with owners William and Cindy Mashburn, who received the Mild Manner Pooch Award; Toby, a 4-month-old Toy Australian Shepherd with owner Candy Riley, who received the Fido Flash Award; Jack, a 1-year-old Mountain Feist, with owner George Goodman, who received the Dynamic Duo Award; Mac, a 3-year-old Golden Retriever, with owner Alleson Looper, who received the Jimmy Olsen “Nose for News” Award; Hercules, a 4-year-old Great Dane, with owner Mae Purrenhage, who received the Hercules Award; and Scooby Doo, a 2½ -year-old Chiweenie, with owner Stephanie Perrin, who received the Hercules Award.
