Employees of Harrah's Metropolis Casino presented Doris Vogt with a $5000 grant for the Reaching for Kids and Youth of Massac County. The funding was provided by a Caesars Foundation grant.

Harrah's Metropolis Casino and Hotel, along with the Caesars Foundation, awarded three not-for-profit organizations a total of $10,000 in donations.

"Each year Harrah's Metropolis, along with the Caesars Foundation, allocates funds to be given to local non-profit organizations in our region. The Code of Commitment reminds us that actively working to improve the quality of life in the communities where we live and work is who we are as a company," said Chad Lewis, advertising and public relations representative. "Whether it's fostering a long-term relationship with a local nonprofit organization or volunteering time in support of a single event, every effort makes a lasting difference," Lewis added.

Much of the casino's success is owed to the community and local region. To show appreciation, along with the spirit of giving this holiday season, Harrah's Metropolis awarded $5,000 to Reaching for Kids and Youth of Massac County, a local organization; $2,500 to the Paducah LGBT Welcome Center located in Paducah; and $2,500 to Jackson Purchase Resource Conservation and Development Foundation.

Reaching for Kids and Youth of Massac County has a mission to offer programs to students to expand the range of choices and opportunities that enable, empower, and encourage youth to achieve positive growth and development and to value education and improve expectations and their capacity for future success and avoid and/reduce risk-taking behavior. The after school program involves academic assistance, life skills, recreation, sports, cultural activities, mentoring, parent involvement, community service projects and a meal every day for the students. The organization is able to offer these programs at school sites with the support from administration, teachers, parents and community.

The Caesars Foundation is a private foundation funded by resorts owned or operated by the Caesars group. The Foundation is the entity through which Caesars Entertainment funds programs and projects, as well as not-for-profit giving requirements imposed by certain operating jurisdictions. The Foundation's objective is to strengthen organizations and programs in the communities where our employees and their families live and work.
