Churches in Woodstock, Murphysboro, Belleville and Metropolis are sharing a $20,000 gift from the Vail Family Donor Advised Fund from Baptist Foundation of Illinois.

What's unusual about the gift is that each church is less than a year old, but shows unusual signs of growth in each community. In Metropolis, the Grace Church has grown rapidly and has outpaced their children's ministry area.

The church is located on West 10th Street near the Metropolis Community Center. Rev. Chris Sielbeck is their lead pastor. The gift will assist the church with renovation of this space, helping in their care and ministry for their youngest "members."

According to Larry Morrow Jr., executive director of Baptist Foundation of Illinois (BFI), the foundation encourages the generosity and wise stewardship of Illinois Baptist churches and individuals.

BFI is a member of the Illinois Baptist State Association.
