With the start of the holiday season, Tiny the Chihuahua is issuing her annual challenge to all her animal-loving friends: She will match donations, up to $5,000, to her favorite shelter, Project Hope Humane Society in Metropolis, from now until the end of December.
In conjunction with the challenge, Project Hope is hosting an online Facebook auction, and is accepting items for the event, which will begin Sunday, Nov. 14. Money raised will go toward Tiny’s Challenge.
Tiny has been raising money for Project Hope for over a decade.
The 15-year-old chihuahua still takes two walks a day and can jump up on the couch or recliner to watch Kentucky Wildcat basketball with her owner.
A rescue pup herself, she feels it is important to” give back” and let the animals at Project Hope live the best lives they can while they await their own chance to be adopted.
Project Hope Humane Society is one of the area’s only no-kill shelters.
To donate to Project Hope Humane Society in Tiny’s name, donors can mail a check to Tiny’s Christmas Challenge, c/o Project Hope Humane Society, P.O. Box 125, Metropolis, IL 62960.
Donations are also accepted at Project Hope’s web page, www.projecthopehumanesociety.org, by following the links to donate via PayPal. For more information, call 618-638-4555.
