Hearts were made happy last week when Happy Hearts Senior Center fully reopened to the public after being closed nearly 16 months due to COVID-19. The first in-house lunch was served Thursday, July 1, with 37 present and 62 home deliveries made. An open house celebration took place Friday, July 2, with 83 present and 89 home deliveries made. “They were so glad to come in on Thursday and be around each other, and we had some who had never been here before,” said Bettie Stoner, site manager. “(Friday) was such a good day, and everybody had a lot of fun. We even had a couple from Vienna. We appreciate everybody who volunteered and donated. It was a great turnout. The support has been great.” Happy Hearts is open from 7 a.m. until 2 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding holidays, with lunch served at 11:30 a.m. Lunch is a donation of $3 for ages 60 and older or $5.75 for those younger than 60.
