Trigg Tour presentation to be held

Todd Carr, a life-long resident of southeastern Illinois will talk about Mr. L.O. Trigg and his vision for southern Illinois. Carr is one of a group of tourism officials who have partnered with the Shawnee National Forest to bring back the L.O.Trigg Tours of the Illinois Ozarks. This presentation on Saturday, July 11, 10 a.m. at Cache River State Natural Area, Barkhausen-Cache River Wetlands Center. Carr will tell how the Trigg’s Tours of the 1930s and 1940s led to the designation of a national forest for Illinois in 1939. To reserve a seat call 618-657-2064. Seating is limited.

Allied retirees to meet July 6

The Allied/Honeywell retirees will meet at 7:30 a.m. at the Waffle Hut near Interstate 24 Exit 3 on Monday, July 6.
