Billy C. Brown, 84, of Paducah, died Friday, Sept. 6, 2019 at the Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center in Paducah.

Mr. Brown was a member of Concord United Methodist Church in Paducah and was a veteran of the U.S. Marines.

He was a graduate of Bardwell High School in 1952, attended Paducah Junior College, received his bachelor of science degree from the University of Tennessee at Martin and received his masters degree and 30 hours above from Murray State University.

Mr. Brown's career in education included coaching, teaching, supervision and 14 years as McCracken County School superintendent.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Harriett Ward Brown; one son, Bruce Brown and wife Jennifer of Lone Oak; one sister, Judith Kruger and husband Richard of Metropolis; one brother, Luke Allen Brown of Metropolis; two grandchildren, Tyler Brown and Peyton Brown; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ollie and Essie Allen Brown; one sister, Mary Lou Paschall; and three brothers, Russell Brown, Keithley Brown and Bobby Brown.

Funeral service was held Monday at Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Dean Emerson and Rev. Marty Robertson officiating. Burial followed at Roselawn Cemetery in Bardwell, Kentucky with military honors conducted.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
