Curtis Stratmeyer


Curtis Stratmeyer, 59, of Metropolis, died Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at the Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center in Paducah.

Mr. Stratmeyer was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Massac County, served on the Massac County Fair Board, retired from the Illinois Department of Transportation and was a life long farmer.

Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Carmen Stratmeyer; one son, Dustin Stratmeyer and wife Brett; one daughter, Katelin Stratmeyer; one granddaughter, Emery Stratmeyer; one sister, Debra Travis and husband Bobby; his nieces and nephews, Dee Dee Wrye and husband James, Billy Travis and wife Julie, Matt Stratmeyer and wife Brandi, Marc Stratmeyer and wife Heather and Lora Jacobs and husband Jason; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Deloris Buldtman Stratmeyer; and one brother, Dennis Stratmeyer.

Funeral service was held Sunday at New Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Frank Forthman Jr. officiating.

Burial followed in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Drew Quint, Kevin Logeman, Steve Foss, Larry Markus, Billy Travis, Will Bunting and Jeff Korte.
