Eddie Lee Rhoades


Eddie Lee Rhoades, 71, of Paducah, formerly of Metropolis, died Sunday, Sept. 22, 2019 at Baptist Health Paducah.

Memorial services will be held at noon on Saturday, Sept. 28 at Joppa Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. David Wright officiating.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the memorial service hour Saturday at the church.

Mr. Rhoades was born on Sept. 13, 1948 in Chicago.

Survivors include one daughter, Christina Rhoades and fiancé Daniel Adkins of Joppa; one son, Andy Rhoades and wife Rachel of Grand Chain; his grandchildren, Kellie Rhoades of Grand Chain and Caden and Jase Adkins of Joppa; his stepgranddaughters, Laura Vaughn and husband Raymond of Metropolis and Emily English of Joppa; three great-grandchildren, Matthew and Gabby Rhoades and Noah Vaughn; two sisters, Patricia Childs and husband Bill of Knoxville, Tennessee and Shirley Ann Rhoades; and two brothers, Joe Joyner and wife Sondra and Samuel Ray Rhodes.

Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar S. Rhoades and Helen M. Wright Rhoades; his wife, Spring V. Rhoades; four sisters, Joetta Henderson, Virginia Bowersmith, Artillia Denler and Loulella Bielski; four brothers, Jack Joiner and Gilford Joiner, Wilburn Lee "Buddy" Rhoades and Joe Rhodes; one nephew, Mike Stubblefield; and one niece, Blair Garris.

It is in accordance with Mr. Rhoades wishes, he will be cremated and interred with his wife at Ohio Chapel Church Cemetery.

Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home of Metropolis is in charge of arrangements.
