Helen L. Blanchard, 67, of Metropolis, passed away at 1:09 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 1, 2022, at Massac Memorial Hospital in Metropolis.

Helen was born April 4, 1954, in Anna, daughter to the late Robert and Martha (Astin) Stubblefield. She was a homemaker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant brother, Shannon Stubblefield.

Survivors include her husband of 49 years, Carl “Hook” Blanchard of Metropolis; children, Michael (Jessica) Blanchard of Draffenville, Kentucky; Murray (Jessica) Blanchard of Metropolis; Gavin (Eliza) Blanchard of Metropolis; Michelle (William) Meyer of Karnak; and Melanie (Jason) Harris of Metropolis; sisters, Sandy (Bob) Inman of Karnak; and Tina (Lawrence) Ragsdale of Karnak; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2021, at the Jones Funeral Home in Villa Ridge. The Rev. Steve Heisner officiated. Interment followed in the Masonic Cemetery in Olmsted.
