Juanita June (Walter) Lukens was born on July 6, 1927 in Metropolis, to Clyde Paul Walter and Blanche Elizabeth (Cagle) Walter. She passed away peacefully in the presence of her family on March 1, 2020 in St. Luke’s Hospital in Chesterfield, Missouri.

Juanita was devoted to her family, an ardent fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, enjoyed antiquing, traveling, the Fox theatre, sewing for her family, gardening, reading and being a member of the Hazelwood Baptist Church.

She is survived by her family members, Beverly June Bess and her husband Rudy Bess, of Hazelwood, Missouri, and Beth Ann Lynn of Overland Park, Kansas; granddaughter Meagan Elizabeth Campbell and husband Mark P. Campbell of Overland Park; grandson Jeffrey Allen Bess, of St. Peters, Missouri, and great-granddaughter Andrea Rose Jumper of Fenton, Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 68 years, George Junior Lukens, brother Clyde Paul Walter, Jr., sister Dorothy Jean Beck of Muskogee, Oklahoma, and son-in-law Mark E. Lynn of Lenexa, Kansas.

Graveside services were held Saturday, March 7, at Memorial Gardens and Pastor Louie Williams of the Hazelwood Baptist Church officiated.

Aikins-Farmer-Loftus-McManus Funeral Home handled the arrangements.

The family requests donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
