Mary LaVene Crim Harvey, 92, of Metropolis, died Saturday, June 29, 2019 at her home.
Funeral service will be held Saturday at noon at St. Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church in Metropolis with Rev. Ronnie Woods and Rev. Stephen Robinson officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery in Choates.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour at the church.
Ms. Harvey was formerly employed at Krypton Assisted Living Home in Metropolis, the Food Bank in Carbondale and retired from the Massac County Courthouse as a bookkeeper.
She was a member of St. Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church in Metropolis, where she served as church musician.
Survivors include four daughters, Karen Algee of Carbondale, Charlotta Gayle Hayles of Florissant, Missouri, Kathy Foster of Round Lake Beach and Ramona Harvey of North Chicago; one son, John Lamarr of Grand Rapids, Michigan; one stepson, Michael Harvey of Chicago; 17 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. John B. Crim and Mary Beatrice Long Crim; seven sisters; and one brother.
