Opal Ida Marie (Skelton) Lingle, 95, of Metropolis, formerly of West Vienna, died 9:10 a.m. Sunday, September 13, 2020, at Southgate Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Metropolis.

She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Vienna. During her residency in Massac County, she attended the Lighthouse Assembly of God Church in Metropolis. She was a homemaker and a cook at the Vienna Grade School.

She is survived by sons, Dennis C. Lingle of Metropolis, and Allen L. Lingle of Conway, Arkansas; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles L and Gladys (Mitchell) Skelton; husband, William “Carl” Lingle. an infant daughter, Janice Lingle; daughter, Linda Lingle Choate, a grandson, Michael Lingle; two brothers; and a granddaughter.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Friday, September 18, 2020, at 2 p.m. at Bailey Funeral Home in Vienna. Mark Russell will officiate. Burial will be in the Bridges Cemetery, southwest of Vienna.

Friends may call 12:30 — 2 p.m. Friday September 18, 2020 at the funeral home.

In lieu of floral remembrances, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105-1905.
