Paula Qualls Chapman, 66, of Metropolis, died Friday, May 10, 2019 at Baptist Health Paducah.

Born Dec. 26, 1952 in Paducah, Mrs. Chapman retired after over 20 years of service at Electric Energy Inc. in Joppa. She was a member of Brookport Church of God, where she served as Sunday school secretary for many years.

Mrs. Chapman was a 1970 graduate of Shawnee High School.

Survivors include her husband of 49 years, James David Chapman; one daughter, Lori Bruce and husband Mike; three grandchildren, Candace Grant and Kirsten and Keegan Bruce; her mother, Joyce Henley Howell; her father, Bobby Dean Qualls; two sisters, Linda Cameron and husband Boyd and Kimberly Weekley and husband Keith; her in-laws, Martha Lemons and husband Leroy, Hershel Chapman, Norma (Bill) Burke and husband Bill, Willie Chapman, Nancy Austin and husband Alan, Emma Lou Hutchinson and husband Odie and Terry Wright; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son, David Brian Chapman; one sister, Brenda Wright; and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Funeral service was held Tuesday at Brookport Church of God with Rev. Charles Tate officiating. Burial followed at Otterbien Cemetery in Pope County. Memorials may be made to Brookport Church of God Building Fund. Pyle Funeral Home in Johnston City was in charge of funeral arrangements.
