Adams receives Grabowski scholarship

Recent Massac County High School graduate Kelis Adams has been selected as the 2022 recipient of the Allyson Brandy Grabowski Memorial Volleyball Scholarship. Adams (right) was presented the scholarship by Grabowski’s aunt Dena Hopkins, who established the scholarship in memory of Grabowski and in honor of the MCHS volleyball program where Grabowski spent many a summer at volleyball camp. It provides $500 for the selected individual to place toward ongoing education opportunities. Adams, the daughter of Chris and Kara Adams of Metropolis, played volleyball for MCHS for four years and for two years on a competitive team. She also was on the Lady Patriots’ track and field team. Adams also received the 2022 Good Citizen Award by the Fort Massac Chapter, National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution; was named an Illinois State Scholar; and received a Murray State University merit-based scholarship. She will be attending MSU and plans to study exercise science to become an athletic trainer.
