Graduation didn't hit second year Cory Hastings, Massac County cross country coach, nearly as hard as some of his counterparts. A notable loss on the boys side was Collin Fiorentini and on the girls side Hannah Lloyd graduated also.

Hastings has Evan Allbritten, Emilio Bautista and Caleb Holman returning for the boys and two time state finalist Ansley Bailey anchoring the girls' squad. Shaley Looney and Melina Rodriguez also bring valuable varsity experience to the girls' team.

Hastings also reported a number of freshmen have been added, and he's excited about their progress. Massac opens their fall campaign on today, Aug. 29 at Marion and will host their Patriot Invitational Thursday, Sept. 19 at Fort Massac State Park.
