Heading back to Iowa

For the second year in the row, Jordan Johnson has won in his age division at the state level of the Elks Hoops Shoot Free Throw Contest. Johnson, a fifth-grader at Unity Elementary, is the son of Charles and Kami Johnson. Currently, he has made 16 of 25 shots at the local level, 18 of 25 at the district level and 21 of 25 at state. He also has made 5-out-of-5 in the state tie breaker. Johnson and his family will travel to Iowa City in mid-March for the regional tournament. If he advances, he will move on to the national tournament in Chicago in mid-April. Metropolis Elks Lodge #1428 members Mark Hunter, Jeremy Holley, Chad Lewis and Kelley Keeling presented his trophy prior to the local sixth-grade championship.
