Massac County’s Lady Patriots were looking to make it two in a row with a win Tuesday night, Nov. 30, at Carterville.
After a solid 56-37 conference road win at Murphysboro last Tuesday, Nov. 23, the girls met up with a strong Carterville team Tuesday night.
Led by the Doyle duo of Alecia and Amayah, the Lady Lions put on a convincing display with a 59-46 win over the Lady Patriots.
If you’ve seen them play you know the Doyles are hard to handle. Senior Alecia had 15 points in the win, sophomore Amayah had 20 and Kasha Ward snuck up on everyone and had 19 points.
For Massac, Sophie Bormann led the way with 15, Addie Gower had 14, Libby Conkle had 10, Monique Hart added four and Elise Coakley had three for Massac’s 46 points. A solid effort, just too much Doyle.
With the loss the Lady Patriots go to 3-2 for the year, while Carterville improved to 6-1, with the lone loss coming at the hands of the Highland Bulldogs in the Salem Thanksgiving Tournament.
