Massac County's Lady Pats won the "battle of attrition" Monday night at Vienna. In what should have been a pretty good game, had both parties been at full strength, Massac County prevailed against an overmatched lady Eagles bunch.

Massac got a bunch of steals and deflections, got outrebounded on a lot of shots, missed a number of point blank shots, forgot to guard Vienna's Emma Rush on occasion and still got the win…by 12 points.

Vienna is without Addison Bent their six foot post player who is recovering from a horribly sprained ankle. And everyone knows the beat-up status of Massac County.

The recovery time from the Anna-Jonesboro beat-down didn't seem to sharpen Massac's play. Vienna seemed a tad sluggish as well.

Massac did get nice efforts from Sophie Bormann, and Tayvia Bailey to spark the win. Bormann poured in 17 points and Bailey, despite her lack of height, was "on the ball " all night, literally.

Cam McBride played her usual tight defensive game and contributed 10 points, and Kendra Waldon busted up a handful of Vienna's plays also. Cali McCraw had the opportunity to dominate inside with Bent on crutches and took decent advantage of it with nine points.

Overall though both teams looked off stride. Massac goes inside the conference Thursday night at Benton.
