Massac County's baseball team got a win Monday over the Galatia Bearcats.

In a rather strange 5-2 win Jase Mizell provided 60 percent of Massac's hits with a 3 for 3 performance, scoring two runs.

Massac collected only five hits. Galatia had a measly four hits, scoring two runs off the trio of Jacob Brown, Brandon Burnett and Ethan Parks.

Parks was the winning pitcher with Burnett getting credit for a save. Brown, Travis, Matesevac and Mizell all scored with Parks and Logan Korte credited with RBIs.

The boys were scheduled to take on Benton Tuesday afternoon but at press time no details were available.

They played Egyptian Wednesday afternoon as area teams are in a mad scramble to make up games lost to the rain-drenched spring we've had.
